Chella is a devoted animal welfare and rescue advocate and has pulled 100's of homeless dogs from the streets
Chella does all this on her own and is motivated to do so by the heartbreak she sees in the eyes of the animals she rescues.

Chella is a devoted Animal welfare and rescue advocate and opened the doors to Pawtcake Animal Refuge on 1st September 2015 to 177 homeless dogs from the streets of Nassau, Bahamas. She has pulled 100's of  homeless Dogs from the streets since.

Chella does all this on her own and is motivated to do so by the heartbreak she sees in the eyes of the animals she rescues.

Running a refuge is not cheap:

  • The rent each month is $2000 ($US)
  • Utilities costing another $700  ($US)
  • Supplies to the refuge another $500 ($US)
  • Each Dog taken to the Vet is $120 ($US) just for a regular Checkup not counting Vaccines or HeartWorm treatment which most of them have.

Some of them have been lucky enough to make it. Some like Henri and Tristian and then there was Tipi who had been battling distemper, all his organs had shut down completely and he had become paralysed, then there were others like Fernando that never stood a chance.

Running the Refuge has taken its toll on Chella. Now Chella is unwell and she needs our help.
Any size donation will be greatly appreciated.
